Then this is your chance! ArcelorMittal Holding and Services Belgium is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its top Legal & Compliance team.

As a Senior Legal Counsel within the ArcelorMittal Group Legal & Compliance organization, and as member of the Belgian legal team you will be the legal business partner to the Belgian and Dutch ArcelorMittal legal entities in their business activities.
‍

You will take the important legal advisory role to advise the business in the broad spectrum of its industrial, commercial and financial operations of these companies.
‍

‍Our ideal candidate is experienced and interested in setting up complex investment projects and transactions, partnerships and JVs, combining a knowledge of several legal areas including corporate law and M&A, environmental and energy law, financial law, contract law,  IP law, project finance, alternative structuring, public private partnerships, etc.  
‍

As member of the European legal team, you will create the added value by providing legal advice and by drafting contracts for cross border projects. You will contribute to synergies of the Belgian and European legal organization by developing legal trainings, template of agreements and by the launch of new legal knowledge exchange and digitization initiatives.
‍

The position will be located in Ghent (ArcelorMittal Ghent offices close to Zelzate), but you might have to travel from time to time in Belgium (and occasionally abroad).
‍

What would you do?

‍

• Primarily acting as trusted senior legal advisor in Belgium & the Netherlands. Proactively providing sound and pragmatic counseling, at the same time minimizing and mitigating legal risks.
• Advising on a wide variety of commercial and corporate matters, with a particular (but not exclusive!) focus on the areas above.
• Delivering training to the business teams on a variety of legal and compliance related matters.
• Actively participating and supporting international legal initiatives of ArcelorMittal. Regularly sharing best practices, new challenges or developments, innovations and efficiency related projects.
What does our ideal candidate look like?
• Masters in Belgian Law.
• 10-15 years of work experience on a wide-range of legal matters in the area of,  partnerships and JVs, investment, commercial and corporate law, environmental and energy law, with a particular focus on setting up complex projects and transactions.
• Experience in an (inter)national law firm or (international) company is a prerequisite.
• Fluent in Dutch, English and in French.
