What will you do?

‍
As an Associate, you will perform challenging legal work for large and medium-sized Belgian and foreign companies. You will join a team of about 15 specialists with whom you will work closely, and be in direct contact with our clients.

Astrea’s Corporate M&A team specializes in mergers and acquisitions as well as venture capital and private equity transactions. They also advise clients on complex matters that fall under corporate law as well as when it comes to corporate litigation.

• You provide advice and legal support on all kind of corporate law matters;
• You prepare and fine-tune legal documents, including contracts related to mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
• You participate actively in the negotiations, you help facilitating deals and resolving any legal issue, which may arise.
• You are in close contact with clients, you thoroughly analyse their needs and aid to develop effective strategies to their problems.
• You represent Astrea by attending various events, by contributing to newsletters and publications and by contributing to external client seminars.
• You ensure that your professional knowledge is always up to date by actively participating in internal or external professional groups, training courses and seminars.

What does our ideal candidate look like?

‍
• You have a Belgian master's degree in law, ideally with a focus on corporate law.
• You have at least 4 years of solid experience in Corporate M&A Transactions.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English and you have a basic knowledge of French.  
• You are customer-oriented, accurate and able to provide thorough analysis and practical solutions.
• You are a real team player with strong communication skills and entrepreneurial spirit, but you are also able to work independently.
